Room Requirements

The floor space of the room should be at least 9 m² (3 m х 3 m, or 9.8 ft x 9.8 ft) to have enough space for nitrogen tank(s) and a changing room. Leave 300 mm (12 in) minimum between the walls and the device on either side. Ceiling height: at least 2,500 mm (8.2 ft).

When deciding on a room where to set up your cryosauna, be sure to measure the size of ANY door frames you will need to use to carry the machine into the room. Door frames should be at least 670 mm (26.5 in) wide for an S-size cabin (standard) and 770 mm (30 in) wide for M and L cabin sizes (optional) to allow for the entry of the device. Bear in mind that Cryomed offers various cabin sizes, so there is always a way to adjust the model you want to fit into your premises.

It is crucial to ensure that the floor is as flat as possible. Another important consideration: due to the machine’s weight, up to 350 kg, it should be installed on a solid floor, preferably concrete or tiled, with a maximum gradient of 0.5%. Wood or similar flooring may not be the best call.

Make a 100 mm (4 in) opening in an exterior wall for the exhaust system to vent nitrogen vapors outside while the device is in operation. Alternatively, the pipe can be integrated into a window or vent sash. Make sure to provide a tight fit for the pipe.

Alternatively, the vent pipe can be linked to the general ventilation system in the building. In this case, be sure to consult the building management. The ventilation system should be suitable for steam extraction, i.e., without filters. In case of active ventilation, make sure it can be deactivated for cooling or sessions.

Forced ventilation with circulating air (both inlet and outlet) and air conditioning are strongly recommended. It is also advisable to install oxygen sensors.

How often can I use a cryosauna?

Cryotherapy can be done on a daily basis. The answer to the question "How often can I use a cryosauna?" depends on your personal needs. However, consistency is key. Here are some recommendations about the frequency of cryotherapy sessions.

For immune system boost: 1-2 sessions per week

For weight loss: 2-5 sessions per week

For sports and fitness recovery: 2-3 sessions per week

For athletes, professional sportsmen recovery: 2-5 sessions per week

For injury recovery, surgery recovery, chronic illness: 3-5 sessions per week

When you should not get cryotherapy sessions?

There are some general indications and contraindications for the use of cryotherapy.

Main cryotherapy indications: rheumatology and vertrbology; repatology; neurology; cosmetology; sexology and urology; endocrinology; pulmonology; cardiology; dematology; orthopedics and traumatology; sports medicine, etc.

Main cryotherapy contraindications: general grave conditions of the patient, decompensation of chronic cardiovascular diseases, acute myocardial infarction and rehabilitation period after the infarction, celebrate strokes, stage II essential hypertension, stage II cardiac insufficiency, prognostically unfavorable heart rate and conduction disorders, fever, pulmonary tuberculosis in active form, malignant growths, hemorrhagic diathesis, hysterical neurosis, individual cold intolerance, pregnancy, age under 10 years

How will I feel in a cryosauna and after?

Cryosauna procedure includes the following: the patient enters the cryosauna in cotton underwear and fur shoe, covers and positions himself in such a way that his head lies above the level of walls. This prevents overcooling of the respiratory tract during the procedure. Thereafter, the nitrogen steam mixed with air at temperatures up to -292°F (-180°C) is supplied to the operating zone of cryosauna. The procedure lasts for 1.5 minutes (at the beginning of the course) to 3 minutes (after 15 to 20 sessions).

During the procedure, the patient does not experience any discomforts unlike during tempering in ice water, as the nitrogen vapor possesses low thermal conductivity and does not overcool the body. When the session is over, you will be surprised to notice that although your skin feels cold to touch, your body emits a pleasant sensation of warmth from within.

Right after procedure you may feel soft pins and needles, but after few minutes you will fell happy, energetic and relaxed concurrently. It is because the level of hormones and endorphins (hormones of happiness) increases. It also boosts in blood circulation and increases collagen production. In fact, the processes will take place in your body up to 6-8 hours.

The effect of cryoprocedures is similar to the effect that we get by doing exercises, i.e. elevated spirits, thanks to the production of endorphins, the body tone increases, metabolism is stimulated, the fight against cellulite and overweight is sustained, and the immunity improves.
